How to set up your business page

Updated: Aug 12, 2019

If you've just joined the monger, welcome! We're mighty glad you found us. First thing you'll want to do is set up your account. It's super easy.

When you log into your monger account, you will see your user dashboard and a listing of recently-added products and businesses. From your dashboard, you can try a basic search, see new business and products, and more. But don't get distracted by the deliciousness! You need to set up your own page, so you're visible to others.

View and edit your own page:

1) Go to Control Panel in the top-right corner of the screen and select Product Manager from the drop-down.

2) At the top of the page you should see a timeline with a bouncing arrow pointing to Edit Company. Click the highlighted green button to go to your blank company page.

3) Check your contact name, contact email, and contact phone on the right-hand portion of the page.

Your contacts will be automatically populated with your signup information, but you may want to update them with appropriate sales or buyer contacts instead. This assures you that wholesale purchase or sales inquiries reach the right people.

Reminder: The monger b2b platform, so your information will only be seen by other interested businesses on the monger, not consumers. 4) Add a business address. You can enter multiple addresses, but be sure to select a primary address so local buyers or sellers can get in touch. Each address can have a nickname, like "Office Address," "Warehouse," "Boston Shop," etc.

Now it's time to add the other elements:

6) Add images. There are two images you can add to your monger company page, a logo and a cover photo, which can be changed at any time. We strongly suggest adding the logo at minimum; we want you to look good!

logo: a square or nearly square image that will appear on your company page, in monger searches, and whenever a product image is not available. Our suggested dimensions are 370 pixels high by 330 pixels wide, at no more that 100 kbs in file size. Images will be scaled, so proportions (nearly square) are more important than exact pixel size. Wider logos will appear quite small, so may be better suited to the cover photo.

cover photo: a wide panoramic-style image, 1155 pixels wide by 300 pixels high. This appears on the top of your business listing, and serves to distinguish your brand. There are many ways to use the cover photo: images of your products, your staff, your farm or animals, or just a beautiful expanded logo image are all appropriate.

If you need help with either picture, email us at success@themonger.com. We can help crop, resize and otherwise get your business pics ready for publication!

tagline: your logo / motto / catchphrase, if you have one. Ours is "save time, savor the rest." :)

biography: the story of you and your business. Who are you? Why are your making or selling amazing food?

Et voila! Your business is set up on the monger.

If you are a retailer or foodservice outlet, that's all there is to it. Once you’re satisfied, you can change the setting “Company Hidden” to “No,” and voila! You’ll enter our listings.

On the flip side, producers, distributors, importers, or brokers must add the products they offer before publishing—that makes it possible for you to discover their fabulous wares.
